It’s not recommended to buy any drugs here. Local police unlike the police of Goa very effectively fights the spread of drugs. As the result, up to 75% of foreigners are imprisoned just because of the drugs. And it’s better for you not to get to know the Thai justice system which has nothing in common with the European one… If you are in trouble don’t try to bribe the policemen: if your violation is not so huge the fine is not big; but if you’ve broken the low on a serious level – ask your local friends to give a bribe themselves.

During the high season (November-March) rentals become twice expensive and compound 400 dollars for an apartment with air-conditioner and about one thousand dollars for a villa with private swimming-pool (500 dollars for villa without a pool) per month. At the Western Shore somewhere around Patong prices are about 10-15% lower than at the Eastern Sore of the Island. The prices in the middle of the Island – region of Kathu, are approximately 20% lower than at the shore.
