The firs impression of today’s bustling, full of contrasts Bangkok stuns and evokes contradictory feelings. Ultramodern high-rise buildings made of glass and concrete are neighboring with miserable bamboo huts! Luxurious palaces and temples glittering with millions of tiny mirrors, wealth, European gloss and poverty; narrow crowded streets and modern highways 15-30 meters above the ground level, huge traffic, policemen in gauze bandages, elephants and Buddhist monks dressed in orange gowns, incredible variety of fruits, spicy food aroma, astonishing and tempting lobsters, oysters, shellfish, snails and calamari laid out on ice in the street cafes and restaurants displays…all this can really utterly surprise anyone doing Thailand tourism! During your Thailand holidays you will see that the streets of Bangkok are deserted during the day but in the evening, life in the narrow streets leading to the embankment returns to life. Neon adverts and signboards blaze up and decoratively dressed up Thailand prostitutes and Thailand party girls appear in the streets; Thai bargirls standing near the bar entrances invite tourists to visit their GO-GO bars. Plunging into the doorway you’ll get into the bar hall most of which have the format of strip-bars with podium pylons where half necked young Thailand girls are dancing. Except for Thailand prostitution there are a lot of other sorts of sexual services which you can easily get in here, for instance Thailand massage. Body massage saloons are scattered around the whole city. There are not less than five of them just in Pattaya. You can pick up any girl you like. Each of those Thailand massage girls have their own number pinned to the breast. One more peculiar detail – the manager of the salon will not allow you to come close to the display window of massage bar and have a good look on the girls. One more way of tourists’ entertainment is the Pussy Show. On the small stage Thailand ladies show what it is possible to do with the organ they have between their legs. To be more specific, during that show they not only open bottles and shoot with the help of that organ, Thailand women also do a lot of other quite interesting different things worth seeing. Besides that wonders you’ll have the opportunity to see few numbers with dancing and singing Thailand boys at that show. It’s worth wile mentioning that in Thai society such “boys” are treated quite tolerant – if you want to be a girl, just be her! In comparison to European, plastic surgery in Thailand is not expensive. Just add a bit on the top and cut a bit lower your bally. Though…not all of those who easily add some parts of body in its top, agree to dismiss some male organs. It’s too expensive…One more Pussy Show in the heart of Walking Street is “Go-Go Show”. Like the first mentioned one this show offers its visitors to enjoy the magical possibilities of women genitals. It has all attributes of Circus Show: shooting with balls, direct hitting of the balloons with darts, pouring of liquids from one bottle to another, smoking of cigars, drawing with markers, opening of bottles and much more. Though the Show dispossesses vulgarity it’s not recommended to bring kids with you. Here you will also find effective fire show, astonishing drag queen costumed dances and real promotion of Thailand girls. Sex in Thailand is cheap. It’s also very cheap and surprisingly interesting to live in Thailand. Thailand people are very open and friendly. As for the Thailand food – it’s absolutely various and amazingly delicious, especially tropical fruits.

Jim Thompson – one of the most mysterious people in the history of Thailand. Jim Thompson – an American who became rich in the middle of the XX century due to the rising of Thai silk industry and made Thai silk world famous. In 1959 he decided to bring old Thai houses and buildings which dated back to XVIII-XIX centuries from the provinces to Bangkok and create real community. Some time later he housed there his wonderful collection of antique pieces of art from the south-eastern Asian countries. Jim Thompson disappeared without a trace in 1967 during his walk in the jungles of Malaysia.
Wimanmek Palace – the most favourite residence of King Chulalongkorn is the world-biggest made of “golden” teak tree building housing lots of royal relics.
This ancient city – Ayuttha – former Thai capital (1350 - 1767) is situated 80 kilometres from Bangkok. Before the fall of the city there were 400 temples, 3 palaces, 12 kilometres of fortifications, 17 small fortresses and 100 city gates in Ayuttha. There also were 50 kilometres of canals which brought it the name of Eastern Venice.
Scattered around Ayuttha ancient temples and ruins are internationally valued monuments of culture. Wat Phra Si Sanphet built in the XIV century which is also mentioned in this list was the biggest Temple in the city, where 16 meters high and covered with 250 kg of pure gold statue of Buddha was kept. Unfortunately Burmese conquerors felt obliged to melt it. Here you can also see dating back to the XVI century fortress-like Wat Na Phra Meru which escaped destruction in 1767, decorated with breathtaking caved wooden selling, amazing 6 meters high statue of Buddha in a crown, and another, 1300 year-old statue of sitting Buddha made out of green stone which was brought here from Ceylon. Wat Phra Chao Phanan Choeng was probably built by Khmers in XIV century, before Ayuttha became the capital of Siam. Here you will have the chance to see 19 meters high Buddha monument which gave the name to the Temple. Renovated Elephant Kraal is a real relief for those who are tired of visiting numerous temples and not keen on Thailand religion. Huge wooden building made out of teak logs place on-the-45 degrees mitre used to be an enclosure for wild elephants. The King had a special pavilion on the top of the building to observe this enthralling sight.
The old capital was by all means wonderful city which was the desirable place of destination for Dutch, Portuguese, French, English, Chinese and Japanese merchants. By the end of 17th century the population of Ayuttha reached one million people and almost all visitors claimed that that was the most astonishing city they had ever seen.
